NOSE WORKS COURSE
Class Description: Nose work is a canine sport created to mimic professional detection dog tasks. One dog and one handler form a team. The dogs must find a hidden target odor, often ignoring distractors (such as food or toys), and alert the handler. After the dog finds the odor, they are rewarded with food or a toy. Nose work is a fast-growing sport in part because it accommodates canines with disabilities or behavior problems.

Is this the right class for my dog? New to scent work sports? You don’t need a big yard or bulky equipment to play scenting games with your dog. Fearful dogs become more confident, and blind and deaf dogs have a sport they can compete with it. Whether you are preparing for your first trial or just looking for something fun to do with your dog, this sport is for you and your dog to build a deeper bond and improve communication.

Details: 50 minutes once a week for six weeks. We require all dogs to be current on their vaccinations for this course. For the complete schedule and to enroll, click here.
